We are proud that Vancouver is one of six host cities for this most prestigious and important soccer tournament and look forward to welcoming fans, friends and supporters from around the world in June 2015. Vancouver will be a proud host for nine matches, including the championship final.

Our government is pleased to be supporting the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 with $2 million in funding. One of our goals is to encourage involvement in sport and healthy, active lifestyles for all British Columbians. In terms of participation, soccer is B.C.’s most popular sport, and we know that this event will inspire even more people to get active.

The successful 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games helped to showcase Vancouver as a world-class host city and a premier venue for international sports. Our city’s lively and diverse character will make us an exceptional fit for this colourful celebration of football, in a community and country where women’s participation in the sport ranks among the highest in the world.
